There’s a difference between having a moral/lesson, and preaching some kinda personal agenda.
Plus I doubt the show would teach li’l girls things like, “men/bronies are evil” like all the Tumblr folk are doing with their mouthpiece fanart.
As opposed to what the show does with every episode having a moral, where… wait.

Mouth pieces are a very broad category here on DB. They can be as innocuous as “be yourself” messages, or as politically charged as propaganda.
Most people don’t like mouthpieces because they make use of fictional, apolitical characters to promote a real-world agenda.
Comments like these make me wish I could like comments on this site.

Basically, anyone online taking a random pony, slapping a completely unrelated preachy agenda text message to them, (like for instance, “bronies/men suck” a surprisingly common one) and making it seem like the opinion is shared by said fictional pony character.
