I think Adagio and Sonata had their names switched. Sonata’s clearly light-hearted and laid back, and Adagio uses her hands a lot.

Her name is Aria. If the Dazzlings were to stick to the show’s naming convention, believing she could sing well shouldn’t be that much of a stretch.

it’s a pro wrestling meme/joke. first used to describe a popular wrestler as inferior in the eyes of management due to not looking like a star. in this case aria’s overshadowed by adagio’s ruthleness and sonata’s adorkable-ness. in terms of singing, she’s equal to her bandmates but she lacks a defining trait to stand out unless you count her grumpiness.

On top of her two troupmates, she also had the reformed Sunset to contend with.

I like the people who say Aria is getting what she deserves because “she’s bitchy in general and mean to Sonata”. I mean really, guys. Sonata’s cute and all, but imagine having to put up with that level of stupid for centuries. And to make things worse, Adagio’s clearly worse to both of them than either of them are to one another, as is indicated by her pulling Aria up by her shirt in a way that indicates preparing to lay into her with the fist of her unused hand. I’m pretty sure anyone else here would be angry and bitter all the time if the core authority figure in their life used fear to hold that position and the only other person they had for company had to have very basic things explained to her every five minutes or so.

Adagio was the focus, so the most time spent and the most character progression. This is in addition to her actions and leading the group during the early releases, in particular “Battle of the Bands” and her actions therein.
 
Sonata gained accidental fame through ditziness and tacos. She didn’t have much else, but the fandom latched on and ran with it.
 
Which brings up the following questions: why didn’t this happen with Aria, and why does it happen on occasion with similarly bland characters?
