I’m sure it was mentioned at one other point earlier in the story but couldn’t find it.
I thought if you’re right handed you would wear your pipbuck/boy on the left hand, since you’re typing with your right hand. Either way, I think nowhere in the story is mentioned that Littlepip is left or right hoofed.
Oh, I think they’re referring to the fact that Little Pip wears her pipbuck on her other hoof(hand, in this case)
It’s something with art about pronouncing the upper lip of feminine female characters so that the viewer knows that they are feminine or female…or some such nonsense.
