Even worse, the very first scene of the next story continues on from this one. It features another late Dr Who actor, Ian Marter who played Dr Harry Sullivan, who was also a companion of the Doctor. :(
It’s even sadder when you realise every actor in this particular clip (Nicholas Courtney included) is now long gone.
I agree. They do the long, emotional goodbye scenes so well, but then BOOM! and Capaldi was there, kinda spoilt it for me too.
Looking forward to the special with the Doctor meeting Father Christmas! ;D
I’d have to go with Eleven’s. But the scene was totally ruined by the sudden switch to Twelve. If they’d gone for the full light show that would be one thing, but just “snap” and he’s changed?
Total mood whiplash.
Capaldi has since made up for it.
Brilliantly quoted, good sir. My favourite is Four’s last line - which is why I quoted that one myself - though I’m also quite fond of Six’s last line for being so random.
“Carrot juice, carrot juice, carrot juice!” :P
Why stop there, let’s have them all!
“Yes, that’s good. Keep warm.”
“No! You can’t do this to me! You’re making me giddy! No! No! No!”
“A tear Sarah Jane? No, don’t cry. While there’s life, there’s…”
“It is the end. But the moment has been prepared for.”
“Feels different this time… (Adric?)”
“Carrot juice, carrot juice, carrot juice…”
“No! I must stop him…!”
“Physician, heal thyself.”
“Makes sense. Wearing a bit thin. I hope the ears are a bit less conspicuous this time?”
“You were fantastic Rose. Just fantastic. And you know what? So was I?”
“I don’t wanna go.”
“It all just fades away doesn’t it? Like breath on a mirror. We’re all different people, when you think about it. But that’s good, you’ve got to keep moving, just so long as you remember all the people you used to be. And I will not forget one line of this, not one day. I will always remember when the Doctor… was me…”
(I may have gotten a few wrong, but I think I’ve done alright. Now if you’ll excuse me, my throat is feeling a little tight…)
Yes.
It is the end; but the moment has been prepared for.
“… they pinch back.”
