Stop being so hyperbolic. Freeze wasn’t really married to Nora when she became that stupid Lazara villainess.
Cluemaster was, and still is as of this writing, married, even if he is trying to kill his daughter Steph, for example.
They won’t even let the VILLAINS be married now?!

Nope. They made the situation worse, actually. Now, she was never his wife. He just became emotionally attached to a frozen woman due to an obsession with cold.
DC’s new mandate states everything must be “darker and edgier,” so that’s what we have, now, in place of the tragic villain.
I won’t say there isn’t some real bad & stupid in the N52, but honestly I find it, overall, to be no better or worse than the previous continuity.
But different strokes n all.
If so I think that’d be one of the very, VERY few things the New 52 has done right.
“Current” in that I’m almost positive that little plot point was wiped out after Infinite Crisis, let alone in the New 52.
And in the current continuity she became a fire elemental thanks to the Lazarus pits called Lazara hellbent to destroying the world.
At least in the animated series she survived and apparently lived peacefully.
FREEZE on the other hand…well first he ended up as a head in a jar, then was revived in a clone body before committing revenge/suicide…
