Looking back in the comments, I’m surprised nobody said “Super Castlevania 4,” or “Contra 3.” Konami-drama aside, those are great games too.
 
Megaman 7 is pretty good too, in fact I kinda prefer it over X.

Final Fight 3 is the best one. It basically plays like Street Fighter if it were a beat em up. Command moves, a super meter, and even branching paths in some stages.

Loooove that one.  
Shame the remake was only released on consoles I don’t own… Though, many seemed to dislike it, due to replacing the soundtrack, (especially the “Pizza Power” intro/ending theme) lacking the SNES version’s extra levels/features/bosses, (making it shorter, like the arcade version) and using the 4Kids voice cast. Still, the fact it had 4-player online play, and such sounded nice.

Hard to say for me, but it’d be a tie between Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest.

I oddly first heard of “Shaq Fu,” when Nintendo Power listed it on their top worst games list in their 100th issue.

To be fair, it never released in the US, so it’s just as likely the OP never heard of or played it.
 
In which case, s/he should correct that.
