Haha, yes, also the colours are swapped, so blue is conservative right wing and red is left wing.
They used to alternate it between elections; somehow it got stuck. Unfortunately, stuck the wrong way.
Which makes more sense, honestly. Frankly I’m kind of ticked off at our (US) news agencies for reversing the colors during the 2000 election. I mean, obviously, blue as in “true blue conservative” and red as in closer to socialism and communism. It doesn’t make much sense to hear McCain’s daughter tweeting “Red till I’m dead, baby!” when the slogan of the US army in Korea and ’Nam was “Better dead than Red!”
No, only the colours of the major parties (Just like in New Zealand): Red is progressive, blue is conservative
