After Secrets and Pies, this picture suddenly takes on a whole new light: Rainbow hates pies yet hides in one so Soarin can lick its filling off her body. Wow, that’s dedication!

In that “meager” screen time of his, she has, among other things, saved his life twice. If she wants a shot at him, I suspect he’d be open to giving her one.

It’s really not a myth. You very seldom see many males, and when you do it’s like one episode out of 20 for some reason in a crowd that would normally be all female there seems to be ~equal males and females.
 
Regardless, the story revolves around a group of friends who are female and princesses who are female. (they didn’t exactly choose for their leaders to be female since they didn’t choose to be alicorns) Is it focusing on those characters somehow misandry, no it’s just logical.
 
Not like it matters, the writers focusing on female characters doesn’t make their world misandric. Frankly in a misogynistic world full of hate and violence, I’d be perfectly happy to go live in a misandric world with little to no (serious) internal conflict or violence.

The low male population is just a myth in MLP. There are plenty of male characters. They’re just not very important. Check the background in most episodes. There are plenty of males in them. Some even voiced. The good and/or memorable ones are either one shots or related to the cast in some way.

It would. Spitfire was in the comic. Even Fleetfoot, but Soarin’ wasn’t. I don’t get why they constantly not use him anymore. The guy has potential and even fans still draw him. (Shipping or not.)

Now that you say it, a Wonderbolt-themed IDW comic featuring Rainbow Dash, Soarin’ and Spitfire would be great.

Yeah, we kind of have to fill in the pieces for Soarin’s interaction and personality, but we usually do that for pairing two characters with no established personality. (I am glad though that a lot of our ideas have appeared in the IDW comics. Like Vinyl and Octavia fighting together)
 
Its acceptable considering Rainbow Dash is very Wonderbolt-sexual, as the joke goes, but even so, its still a little weird how much attention it gets. But, as Fortune said, its just due to lack of Male potentials.

A lot of those were in S1 aside from the last one being S2 as a screenshot.

There’s also Thunderlane, but there’s nothing impressive about him. Soarin’s at least a little more accomplished.
 
Seriously, this series needs more interesting stallions.

Think about how many males there’re on the show period.  
Then think about which of those would be a better fit.
 
Not a wide selection, is there? It’s better than having every one of them paired up with Big Mac.
 
And if it wasn’t for Soarin’, the only other stallions that you could put her with would be those sports pegasi. No thanks.
 
But hetero ships usually require a bit more reaching than the lesbian ships. That goes for all the Mane 6.
