there’s a support structure that’s printed with it and thrown away when it’s done.
That’s actually one of the features of 3d print, at least the laser hardening method. The figure is still immersed in the liquid matrix will it’s being printed.
3D printing does things in layers, and usually with a surrounding medium that is removed. Overhangs are no problem.
