You must hate some of the art on here then. XD Even I cannot stand it.
Chicken = Barefeet
Yeah, I’m not down with eating hummingbirds either or frogs, or bugs, or arachnids, or lizards, or dolpfhin, or monkeys, or anything else that follows in the “exotic foods” category.
Myself on the other hand, wouldn’t mind trying some of the more “unconventional” recipes I’ve seen on youtube. Like a spaghetti burrito, it was done two ways the first looked easier to make and less time consuming. Its basically you make your spaghetti beforehand and put it in the fridge to chill. Then you get a burrito tortilla put your cheese on (they used sliced mozzarella but I’m sure you can use grated too.) After that you put your spaghetti on the tortilla (just not too much or it won’t roll right) roll it like you would a burrito and then lightly fry it in a frying pan on both sides. And then you have a spaghetti burrito.
I also want to try the “pizza cake” recipe.
I just watched it and I’m very sad about the poor frog I just saw. ;_;
I don’t care if hummingbirds are like delicious little sausages, they are precious babies and they need to be protected. Gator on the other hand….
Well let’s say the meme is true - it really does kind of taste and even feel like chicken. It’s noticeably different but not much. Maybe it’s a bit closer to duck, idk. It’s just not at all what I was expecting. I don’t think I would bother eating it very often though because to me, the luxury of eating an “exotic” kind of meat like that is wasted when it’s similar enough to just be replaced by a common kind of meat like the chickens we already raise and eat by the trillions.
I’ve never tried any insects or lizards but I just have a hunch that lizard meat is probably really tender. I could be wrong, but I was surprised as hell when I started eating escargot. The snails I had there were like little pieces of beef. As for bugs, well arachnids aren’t technically bugs but I’ve heard people say that fried tarantula and scorpions are actually really good. I can’t back that up though.
For me it’s a bit of both, I just don’t think I could bring myself to eat bugs or lizzards for that matter, though there is this little resturant that serves fried gator sandwiches. But still I don’t think I’d want to try it. That also goes for hummingbirds as well, I didn’t think people actually ate them.
Well, you might not ask me. But i just want to share my point of view. To be honest it’s the matter of if I interested, not disgusted looking at it, I find it delicious, availability and money. Like for example Pila ampullacea ( a species of snail), I really do like it, I don’t find it disgusting, I can easily buy it here and heck I can even farm it if I want to, and it’s cheap and I am sure not a lot of people here wouldn’t want to try since the difference of culture and stuff.
On the other hand hummingbird, well there isn’t anyone that selling it here. And I also not interested to try too. So yeah that’s why for bird, I stick with chicken, sometimes duck. Because both are the most available here. As for lizard or pretty much all of the reptile. Nah, I just find them well disgusting to eat, and pretty much no one sell it so yeah that. And the same can be said for large insects or any insects for that matter. though in the other part of country some species of insects are being sold like grasshopper. But I just don’t find them appetizing.

this is why she’s afraid of chicken
Out of curiosity, why is that? Is it because it’s too cute? Or is this more the way a lot of people wouldn’t want to eat a fried lizard or large insect?
hey that’s royal rudeness
No I have not. Huh, learn something new everyday. Though I don’t think I could bring myself to eat a hummingbird.
It’s not made with gingerbread, It’s a structure made entirely of bacon that looks like a gingerbread house…or a rustic cabin if you count the coloring of the bacon after it’s cooked.
Have you heard of the one that involves like 16 birds and the smallest one is a hummingbird?
Eew. (Also, ginger-bread, another food I can eat, provided it’s mild)
Edited
Ever seen a ginger-bread house made of entirely bacon?
Oh I don’t have a fear of meat. I just went off on a tangent about fried chicken and such. Like I mentioned before I’ve been watching some cooking channels on YouTube recently. Like recipes that aren’t really on the conventional side. For example how to make a spaghetti burrito or how to make a giant kit-Kat bar. Stuff like that.
My problem is some kind of phobia of food in general, I have only five or so different types of food I like, and that’s about it… Chicken, Apples, Potatoes, Cheeses, Milk, Bread, and that’s it. Even among those foods, I can only eat specific preparations of them, most of my protein comes from chicken wings and chicken tenders (Dark meat is not allowed), but I will not eat the meat on its own without some sort of crispy coating such as skin or breading. Apples are the only fruit I eat. I only eat potatoes when fried or baked and are crispy, not gooey. Cheeses must be eaten with bread, but I cannot eat traditional pizza because the sauce is disgusting. Milk cannot be drunken in its base form and must be eaten as ice cream, or as an ingredient inside something else. Anything with a gooey or slimy consistency cannot be eaten. Cooked foods cannot be eaten when room temperature or lower. Drinks (Water, Root Beer, or Gatorade, nothing else) must be consumed when cold. Soup goes against the laws of human decency.
Bacon is the only exception to these rules.

means fear of meat, and no it’s not limited to people who eats only vegs.
I like me some veggies, but on the risk of sounding like dunce, what’s Carnophobia? At first I thought you said cornucopia. I apologize I was watching a bit of cooking channels on YouTube yesterday.
@infinita est lux Solis
if you two have Carnophobia, you would be better off being vegetarians.

Yeah, you can cover quite a bit of ground with baked chicken recipes. Like coating it in a garlic-butter base or using your own preference of herbs and spices. My mom would tell me tons of different recipes. Too bad I can’t memorize half of them.
Well, I don’t like anything that’s barbecued, but I adore the other two, though between them I’d say baked.
Eh, I’d still like to try it. I mean I’ve had all three separate of course but never as an all in one entree. But that’s me.
So what’s your preference? Baked? Fried? Or barbecued?
