So I know a bunch of y’all have been speculating that Garble is the big brother Smolder talked about and I can see why you would, but…

Eh, they did kind of force his ‘sensitivity’ for the sake of a generic bullying episode.
Anyway, this was fun to speculate about.
Okay, so, uh, in hindsight, this was not one of my prouder comments.
Not entirely.
You know kid shows are all about showing masculine characters have a sensitive side. This show is no exception.
And Garble, dragon god of dude-bros, is long overdue for a humanizing episode.

If Hollywood could produce The Room they have no excuse for ignoring your ideas.
You don’t understand, Discord’s dimension ended up being used as a more efficient version of the room of spirit and time, except the training never actually took place, but it did. Discord just created a portal and said “let’s just say this happened”, so it happened but it also didn’t.
Yes, Discord got involved.
It’s complicated.
The world couldn’t handle that much nonsense.
Oh Lord that story idea. Really, that’s the kind of thing that needs to get made into a fanfic. I love it, I seriously do.
Hollywood needs to go and talk to you and your husband. Your ideas would make better films than almost anything they’ve produced of late.
Oh yeah, I definitely see why people go with Garble. I just think that the similarities between these two are striking enough to point out.
They also made it a point to bring the orange guy back and give him a speaking role in the end of season 7. Not sure if that was intentional, but a tiny bit conspicuous now.
In a few scenarios my husband and I wound up just making up on the fly Smolder ended up being Garble’s cousin for some reason. I forgot why.
I’d hardly call it a headcanon, though. We shout dumb ideas and roll dice to confirm. This is how we got a scenario where the Drakuza got a hold of Smolder and gave her to a mob boss on an island called Sizzily, who thought Smolder reminded him of his long lost daughter and he turned out to be her real dad. We kept going and before we knew it the Drakuza was defeated and the Neighponese government was completely destabilized.
Needless to say, we don’t take ourselves or our stories too seriously.
But just watch it be neither of them, and it’s another of those teenage dragons. I think I would bust a gut.
