well that was… about as expected as any of this. a crafty solution might be to send firespite hurrying to warn celestia while twilight takes a slower route. or perhaps some kind of warning sign in the sky as they approach canterlot, to give celestia enough time to prepare some sort of a countermeasure.
 
…twilight’s just gonna leave firespite to her duties and deliver it straight to celestia, isn’t she.
