Yeah, I feel for you Brits, especially after how hot it was this past summer – I didn’t even know you guys don’t have air conditioning as prevalently as we colonists! I do like to poke fun, though, as it seems everyone whines whenever it’s cooler than 40°F or warmer than 80°F. [That’s about 5° to 28°C for the rest of the planet.]

Take heart in the fact it’s the warmest it’s been in three days here: 2°F (-17°C), with a constant 20-mph wind, and floofy lake-effect snow that hasn’t stopped for about five days. US Mail has stopped, state of emergency declared by the governor, and we just had a natural gas pumping station explode yesterday afternoon, near Jackson, so they’re asking everyone to crank down their thermostats (yes, we got an emergency text message statewide to that effect!).

God I love winter! ♥ :D

I remember it best by a line in Futurama (like, the second episode, with ‘Whaling on the Moon’):

Hillbilly Moon Farmer: “Gits down ta forty below at night.”

Fry: “Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius?”

Hillbilly Moon Farmer: “First one, then th’ other!”
