Apparently, Miyamoto himself is very fond of the game too.
For me, it actually took a few weeks, granted I was distracted by other things/games at te time. (And I insisted on not using any guides for it, or anything.) It’s a bit short, but I wouldn’t call it “easy,” especially trying to get the best post-credits ending screen. So it kinda balances out a bit.
The 3DS version does have some cool new features like multiplayer, and a single/multiplayer boss rush mode.
Plus, 3DS fits it better considering the original GameCube game was going to have a scrapped 3D view feature.

I actually know why Luigi’s Mansion wasn’t remade for the switch instead of the 3DS. Simply put, the game is too short to warrant putting it on such powerful hardware, which is actually a pretty good reason not to put it on the switch. Because let’s face it: as good as Luigi’s Mansion is, the entire game could be beaten in an afternoon.
Now it’s been remade on 3DS. I’d love to get it if it’s price ever goes down enough. (I don’t like paying $40 for a game I already own.)
Some are upset it wasn’t for Switch, regardless of the fact Switch is getting “Luigi’s Mansion 3” which is probably even better.
I remember back when some used to bash the original LM game, (even some old gaming TV shows & magazines did) but now that it’s become a cult-classic, and had a successful sequel, Luigi’s Mansion has become more beloved in recent times.
Even SSBUltimate upgraded Luigi’s throw attack to use his Poltergust, further homaging the series.
