For some people, the problem had more to do with “much talk less action”.
It was better received in the Clone Wars because of the relatively faster pace. I dunno, I pretty much love Star Wars overall, so even I don’t understand the conflict that much. When I investigated about it, it seems that people just didn’t like the political scenes in that movie because they expected more action.
Agreed
There were people who actually complained about the politics of The Phantom Menace? Were those the same people who complained that Jar Jar Binks made the show too “kiddie”? Because that’s like…two completely different directions. The whole idea of the Phantom Menace and its plot would be a lot more generic and clunky without explaining the politics in the way it did, and it didn’t linger on boring senate hearings or anything for too long.
And for the next two prequels, well, if you could say there were much more political scenes in the plot, that’s true, but even if you could argue they distracted from the story (which I don’t think they did, they had their purpose), they’d still be the least of the problems with the other two films.
For me at least Star Wars was always better and more interesting when they tried to explore their fictional politics. That’s what I loved about The Clone Wars show. It even tried to show us how in some ways the Separatists were a convincing idea to some colonies that were having their needs ignored by the Republic.
Do you think this show is going to show in depth things like politics or bureocracy with details? People will complain just like they did in The Phantom Menace. She’s the princess, so she technically speaking she qualifies as a ruler.
Besides, along with the aforement point, Twilight might just be quite lax in that regard.
Why do you assume Twilight’s a ruler? She doesn’t really act like a ruler.
Wonder if Twilight starts thinking about that after this.
Cozy Glow basically tricked her into accusing the Cutie Mark Crusaders of giving her the wrong answers.
The Princess of Friendship.
Yes I am ;)~
Your mother. XD
NEHAHAHAH! It’s all coming together now! My sadomasochistic urges will be satisfied in hell! Oh I just LOVE losing! Fools! You have no idea how much of a kick I’m getting out of this! My evil plan was thwarted and I’ve been ruined! HAHAHAHAHA!!! >:D
I’m curious to know what they will do with her in the last season, cause letting this great of a character go to waste this quickly is a horrible decision.
Unfortunately, that still dooms her. Even if she gets free, she needs to pull a really really big one to deal with the fact that she’s technically speaking a public enemy on Equestria well known for manipulating everybody.
Maybe thats the reason she’s in Tartarus. They know they can’t trust her because everything can be an act. She could break out from anywhere if they even try to talk to her because of her manipulative nature. Having somepony who could convince you she’s good regardless of her true nature is something they can’t let roam freely anymore and is even more dangerous than any other creature in Tartarus, cause they have no way to deal with Cozy Glow.
Even so, her first act of sore loserness would still stick into people’s mind. Plus, wouldn’t be weird to trust in someone who made a fame of being a manipulator? Falling for her tricks again requires that the main cast to forget that she manipulated everyone the first time and then giving her enought freedom to do what she wants. You don’t leave a bottle of scrumpy near a guy who has a fame of being alcoholic.
The thing is Cozy has a way with words that no other pony or creature has. If you remember in “Marks for Effort”, she really tried her best to pretend she was learning a lesson with the CMC’s like even chasing a freaking kite into the bushes. With enough effort, she can convince all of them she is actually being reformed. Discord and Trixie were less convincing because they didn’t seem to change after everything that happened.
You really think ponies will believe her after the show she made before being captured? Twilight at least still didn’t fully trust Trixie after she ran away withouot apologizing the first time, so she probably wouldn’t trust in Cozy. Same with Discord, who was unrepeant as well and then Twilight didn’t trust him for quite a long time. At leaast Twilight wouldn’t really trust in Cozy. And that’s assuming other villains wouldn’t backstab her first if she tries to look for help to them.
She can also pretty much pretend she’s being reformed. She can easily convince anyone with that.
She’s also pretty weak, and now that she can’t really played nice against no one (except maybe the Kirin), she can’t use the power of friendship anyway. Plus, she doesn’t look like the kind that learns lessons, but I really mean it: she’s probably going to get Tirek on her side, if it doesn’t work she’ll try to ger Chrysalis, or Kirins, and when it doesn’t work, she’s probably going to say “I can make friendships without your values”.
Well, the Kirin are indeed vulnerable, but since the ponies are already savy regarding her, is not like she can do a lot on her own or even with the Kirins, as most of Equestria probably would know what happened with Cozy.
She is a megalomaniac genius. No simple-minded display of empathy is enough to change her reasoning. She has no reason to redeem herself. Also, why would she accept defeat by the ones she outsmarted so easily? She was right by saying Friendship is Power, since the Power of Friendship was the only thing that was able to save everyone in there, so, in a way, she was right till the end.
Might be a good reminder that any place out of Equestria is pretty much oblivious of the rulers.
Take the Kirin as an example.
