She would use a crossbow mainly to stun enemies than to directly hurt them and anyone nearby.
Maybe killing the undead from a distance could prevent them from hurting you and your party.
That was why I used a crossbow for Ocellus – since she might not like direct combat, she would at least defeat or stun her enemies from a distance, only transforming into something else as a last resort.
I once played a character who had half her levels in Rouge, and half in Paladin, attempting to play an Inquisitoresque character, it was fun because I was the only one in my team who had brought anything that was of use against undead.
I guess Rogue would be more fitting for Sandbar, because he is not as rigid and disciplined as a Paladin, not does he rely on heavy attacks. Since he should be relaxed, he should be a carefree Rogue.
