I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard that she is or was a Christian. Pretty weird, a feminist Christian, and I can see that.
Clearly in the early seasons of the show, there were some Christian values for sure, in a small fraction of course.

I didn’t know she was this type of person. I always felt like she was nice, but you don’t know any of those writers or celebrities.
I get that she imagined a large portion of the MLP G4 universe and characters, but the love she has is a bit too much.
Plus, her DC heroes show is terrible in my opinion, mainly because it reminds me a lot of MLP.
The characters, personalities, and even art style.

It’s in episode 3, when Applejack said, “Well, isn’t that just like a boy? Can’t handle the least bit of sentiment.” Like I said, not a big deal, but it could’ve been a precursor to something more.

I’m just wondering what “have it her way” actually means. If she was trying to put things in that they didn’t want, like gender politics, then it makes sense why they told her no. I mean, there was a blatant sexist line that Applejack said in an episode she wrote. That’s not a huge deal, but it could have been an indication of what was in store for us if she had more creative freedom.

DHX made the show what it is.

I agree with everything else you have said, but this common misconception really pisses me off. The scripts are written at hasbro studios, not DHX. DHX does animation and post-production.

Warning: Nuts Inside
It never ceases to amaze me how many people forget that Lauren quit of her own volition. She has admitted, more than once, to having departed because Hasbro wasn’t letting her have her way. It’s not an accusation of shitty behavior if she admits she did it in an interview.

People want to see her as “mom” and Hasbro as the big bad evil that made her want to leave. But the truth is, she left because they wouldn’t let her sit down with the writers once a week so she could have an opinion on everything being done. Lauren wrote three episodes and they’re regarded as mediocre at best. After that the only thing she contributed to the show was suggestions, one of them being John deLancie for Discord.

She started a phenomenon by coming up with the characters and designs. That was an important foundation. But the show was actually at the height of its popularity after she left. And outside of a relative handful of characters, DHX made the show what it is. Not Lauren.

People need to stop asking her about the show. She stopped paying attention after she left, and that was over half a decade ago now.

Well, obviously. Lauren left in Season 2 right? Why would she know about an addition to the show from Season 5?

Which episode? All I know is the 2016 reboot claims it’s “girl power” but is so hilariously behind the times Princess Peach would call it outdated…

Considering she made a PPG episode where they discuss and shoot down straw feminism, I sincerely doubt it.
Sure, she said she regretted writing that episode, but that’s because she got Tumblr’d ten years before Tumblr existed and got a bunch of hate mail from legbeards, but still.
Background Pony #8960
I’m a little glad she left. As was done in her previous works, there would undoubtedly be episodes about how sexist and horrible the world is to women. In other words, pretend a Tumblr user wrote an episode and imagine how that would be.

No it’s legit. She does this with almost every show she hoes into. The two biggest ones being medusa and MLP:FIM.
she always uses the excuse of “creative differences” to justify her whining. She’s just not much of a team player. And honestly, i find that many of her episodes are some of the weakest in the series, hell, i didn’t even like the pilot episode.

Contrary to local popularity, outside of the fandom SG is either unknown or still remembered as a pony who attempted a communist coup due to news outlets depicting the episodes starring her as the antagonist as an anti-socialist episode overall.

Uhm, sorry to burst your bubble, but outside of the fandom Starlight Glimmer isn’t known at all. None of the ponies are, really. Though I suppose ponies Rainbow Dash might be slightly more recognizable because of their unique design.
