So I looked around and found that FOOTBALL was founded first, then during a game played in Rugby HighSchool in england some guy who didn’t know the rules took the ball in his arms and ran with it. From then on, Rugby Football started developing. It got popular.
So the Brits decided to call proper football “Associaton Football” and the weird football “Rugby Football”. The names were shortened to “soccer” and “rugger.”
But note that they’ve abandoned the word soccer and went back to Football.
I meant no offense.

I just think it is funny that american football is not played with feet despite the name.
