Most likely, as it’s not a cop out, now if Twilight tricked Trixie into removing the amulet with doing all that but just by talking about how her “amulet” was more powerful then that would of been a cop out, but as something was done it wasn’t one, if you didn’t like it that’s fine but don’t dis the writers for actually doing something clever and not being lazy.
I was probably using the wrong term anyway.
Okay, fine then but stop calling it a cop out.
Well, clearly you’re not going to convince me anytime soon, so quit it.
You mean your self?
Really dude Twi using magic to solve everything would get boring, we needed her to use some other means to get her to stay level headed, she was only thinking of how to overpower Trixie but Zecora was trying to get her not to think along that line.
Fuck this, it’s like talking to a brick wall.
Okay THAT wouldn’t of been clever at all and proves you didn’t get it, it’s about how useing magic to solve everything is not how to go about it, it was to think of how to beat Trixie without having to over power her.
What you wanted would of been the cop out.
I called it when the amulet was a fake, but what I’m saying is that it would have showed that Twilight not only gave Trixie a taste of her own medicine, but that she also reached the level of magic that few unicorns can ever reach, thus not only resolving the plot of the episode, but also allowing Twilight to be able to learn even more powerful spells.
Still not a cop out.
Wait, make that eleven, because I forgot Zecora.
Who said it was about “Power of Six” in this episode, and that doesn’t make it a cop out.
*so far in S3.
Yeah, that was a red herring to throw the audience into the loop before the big reveal. That’s a magic trick, too: the art of misdirection. But it was played on the audience.
This is a very good episode, maybe the best so far, even. It’s thematically solid and has the best jokes I’ve seen so far.
The whole “Power of Six” Thing really doesn’t work if there were ten ponies involved.
Unfortunately, you can’t use six shooters without killing anyone, so they went with illusions instead.
Try a hard refresh with ctrl-f5, and my name’s not Smiling.
Also, we were tricked into thinking they were going to use the elements, instead of the ponies itself.
Pretty clever.
