Which I think should have been handled better by having Twilight let Celestia know about Sunset’s progress, while still giving an intimidating impression as a test to see if Sunset has really turned around.
You can see it in the way Celestia conducted herself when Sunset came to visit, and how awkward Twilight was being. If Celestia knew Sunset had changed, I don’t think there would be much need to act so intimidating. Also, her dialogue after their reunion: “But it sounds like there’s Equestrian magic at work in your world.” It’s like she did not know about the sirens or… anything, really.
Really? I thought Twilight would have let Celestia know about Sunset’s progress.
Here we see the traditional alicorn dominance gesture. Alicorns use their wings not only for flight, but to intimidate lesser ponies by their size. In this way the social order among pastel ponies is preserved.
She only knew the Celestia that was before Luna came back.
Well, it seems Twilight never bothered to tell Celestia that Sunset had changed. All she knew was that Twilight left Sunset in the human world, and nothing after that.
Celestia’s got the “dissapointed parent” thing going on,
Luna just looks like she’s bored of your exsistance.
