same here. They both suffer the same problem. Other than being former villains they have very little personality.
I understand, I suppose it’s an overused excuse to critique, or bash a character. I feel I kinda liked Sunset better as a supporting character. I feel the same about Starlight too, and I kinda want more from them other then just being “former villains who are cute & nice” now.
That is fine. That is a legit reason to not like her and I do agree with some of that I liked her in Rainbow rocks but everything after that has just been…. Like you said generic.
Other than being the girl that used to be evil but is now good she has very little actual personality.
Still my original point being it gets on my nerves when people just say “character X is overrated so I dont like them” and when you ask them why they have no actual reason other than the the character being overrated.

Sorry, if I came off that way, I didn’t wanna get into why I’m not a huge fan of her, as I didn’t want to upset her fans. (As people are rather protective of her.) It’s more-so other reasons like her generic personality doesn’t interest me as much as the Mane 6, and some other reasons I didn’t think anyone would care to hear. (As I don’t like bashing fictional characters frankly.)
Honestly I don’t hate her either as I tried stating before.
In fact, I used to like her alot better too, and I even enjoyed her taking center stage in “Rainbow Rocks” at first, but now something about that movie kinda rubs me the wrong way… (Like the way some BG characters acted like jerks in order to make you feel bad for her, and forgive her evil deeds in the first movie. Despite the BG characters “acting mean” being partially influenced by the Sirens, some fans took it rather seriously regardless, and some took it too far.) I kinda prefered the 2 EqG movies after it.
I honestly don’t hate her, or want to hate her, but I’m basically just a li’l burnt out on her, I guess. Maybe if I give this Shimmer movie a shot, maybe some of my enjoyment of her will return. Am I the only one feeling kinda mixed about her honestly?

Its fine to not like Sunset but Saying you don’t like her because you think she is overrated is saying you dont like her because she is a popular character…..That is a very weak reason to not like someone and yet everyone in this fandom does it. If you are going to not like a character at least have a decent reason.
Why do people in this fandom treat it like it’s such a crime to have a negative opinion about anything?
(It’s not like I hate everything about the show, in fact I’m not bothered by some controversial things, and I still enjoy the show.)

“Forgotten Friendship” might be the first MLP “episode” I skip. It just sounds like another episode where we’re just supposed to feel sorry for her constantly, or adore her like in R.R. Hope I’m wrong, and there’s more to her in that.
