Honestly, that kind of sound right with names like Harry Hoofdini, Starswirl the Bearded, DJ PON3(with the three acting as a backwards E), Dr Whooves. Some of the names on the show are pretty obvious.

true, but as for now, she is know as Sphinx (character), thus I think Kusu can be a good name, as it takes the name we currently have, translates it into a diffrent language, then take part of it and thus we got a name. After all, the apple family is named after real life apples or apple products.
Yeah I thought of that, too, but I definitely have a dirty mind. XD
So? Nobody says it has to be derived from a word for “sphinx.” I like PonyPon’s better. Or maybe something like “Enigmatike” (αἰνιγματική, “puzzling”) or “Enissomene” (αἰνισσόμενη, “(she) speaking in riddles”).
