I’d like to think after the sphinx had some time to cool down, she returned to the village and, out of respect for Somnambula, helped repair the damage she caused.
Sphinx: “Hello everyone, you’ve just tuned in to The Sphinx Show! Please give it up for my Hapless Victim of the Week, Soooooooooomnambula!”
Somnambula: “So you’ve chewed that wall out?”
Sphinx: “Never had one installed in the first place.”
It was. The old guy who was narrating. I guess he didn’t bother trying to imitate the voices (and what’s even the point of including the dialogue, then?!).

Yet people still get confused, because her voice was the old man who was telling the story. Then again, Somnamula’s voice was also the old man’s!
