They have trouble even hitting him. He’s too nimble.
His wings are a lot more ragged though, and he’s got a lot more scars and discoloration. He’s clearly been through a few battles since then.

… even though we still haven’t managed to finish watching E7 so many years later.
Several times the fire seems to not even reach the shield, being redirected a couple of inches before hitting it. So I’d say this is indeed how it works.
Still pretty ballsy though. It only faces one way, and there is two dragons.

Maybe it outright dispels or redirects fire?
even if it is fireproof, the fire could go around it, instead of dissapearing mid air or redirecting to the sides
