According to an interview by Ted Anderson, he originally pitched Tempest’s origin story and somewhere along the line Tempest’s book got based on it.
Haven’t read the book or comic yet, but supposedly they cover largely the same plot points but with a handful of details unique to each.

Since in the physical version the middle page is all printed in the same sheet of paper, usually it’s used for full two pages designs.
And this scene is around half of the book, so if both comic and book cover the same events, it makes sense to be in the middle. But maybe the comic starts further on Tempest’s journey and these pages are closer to the beginning.
I don’t think there’s a hard rule on that, but it’s true that this page could be further into the comic.

Well, we can only wait and watch the movie. It would be very interesting, though. I mean, imagine if Chummer was actually dead, or he’s alive and reunites with Capper. Both ways are interesting, one dark and the other heartwarming.
The other ones appear to be fake. I think the original poster of that thread is telling the truth. It lines up perfectly with the comics.

Yeah this is either page 3 or page 5.
This page is the right half of a two-page spread. Since MLP comics always have their first page on the right, then this page is at least page 3.
Apparently it’s the other way around. Stormy Road is actually a novelization of Part 4.
