She would have if it was her family moving. She was the first of the two to intrude and say they “couldn’t get married”.

The fact of the matter is that Granny and Grand Pear were equally pigheaded. Granny was upset whenever the Pears were brought up because she was equally as guilty of the prejudices. She was terrified when AJ told her that they had been “learning about their parents”, because she had every reason to believe that her grandchildren would be (rightfully) furious at her.
