I think there is a tomato pony
she visits every new show in Ponyville with a fresh one in hoof and just smiles for the whole performance
she also makes a ton of money by selling her out of date products at bad threatre performances
she likes to show up at both Apple family and vegetable pony reunions while they debate where she belongs
she’s just a troll in general

Truth be told, the Apple family has familial connections with all fruit-named ponies. Wouldn’t doubt they’d come across a long lost relative with the surname “kumquat”.
