Sweetie Belle should’ve told Rarity that her interests changed from the beginning in the episode Forever Filly. It would’ve saved her the boredom she went through throughout the episode.

Someone should make vectors of Sweetie Belle making that same look in all those costumes.

Also, they cast Zecora as “black” because zebras are African equinids, the music that plays when the scene is set in her home, and her home being covered with African tribal masks.

The fandom has cast Zecora (and by extension, all zebras) as “blacks” only because she has an Afro-Caribbean accent. She’s a foreigner, however, not a descendent of slaves, so in her case it’s xenophobia rather than racism.
 
Sweetie Belle dressing up as a sheep–a sapient race that appear to be actual slaves in Equestria–is far closer to a “blackface” gag than anything involving Zecora. I seriously doubt whether the animators intended it as such, though, or even thought about it that way. I would chalk it up to Unfortunate Implications.

I seriously love how Rarity just steals the scene in almost everything she does! I love these photosets. It’s a brilliant contrast against Sweetie Belle.

This is especially awkward when you consider that sheep are sentient in this universe, so this is not only basically Sweetie Belle in blackface, but also blackface with a pony shepherd herding her around.

The Rarifly (Butterity?) wings are the same from Sonic Rainboom. That’s a major callback. I’d call it resource recycling, but that’s okay. Sonic Rainboom happened 6 seasons ago. Bringing it back now is… just wow.
