I was also aware of that. At least we can say that the songs are pretty catchy though.
That’s because the opening and end credits are much longer, so they have to do time cuts for the episodes to air on tv.
From what I heard, every episode in the japanese dub had several clips removed, I watched the episode “Look before you sleep” in both the original english version, and japanese at the same time, and I recall 2 or 4 clips omitted in the japanese version. In other words, unless it includes the original uncut episodes, it’s simply not worth the $200, even if the japanese voices are absolutely adorable.
yeah, all 4 of the equestria girls movies are on blu ray here in america at least. They come in multi packs with dvd and digital copy as well as blu ray. So the standard 3 media thing. Its funny poppin in the dvd after watching the blu ray and seeing how TERRIBLE it looks on a 40 inch 1080p tv. Looks like the wii on an hd tv, vasaline is smudged all over the screen and it looks blurry every moment.
You can even pick up red vs blu on blu ray, AVGN on blu ray, RWBY on blu ray. If indie companies and people can get blu ray then hasbro should be able to.
And its not like they dont have the media, MLP is displayed in HD on Discovery Family HD so they HAVE the files, its mastered in above 1080p its always scaled down because its flash, flash so long as you have the original files has no limits technically, just need good hardware.

Heh, I admit I specified 4k because I care. Gotta plan for the future.
But yeah, US retailers are locked into the mindset that kiddos don’t care about quality and that parents won’t pay for quality, and I don’t know if that’ll change anytime soon. (Maybe if the sales numbers for digital copies showed a huge advantage for the HD versions…)
I dont care about 4k, i just want 1080p! dvd is 480i, its meant to compete with … VHS. We are a LOT past it, dvd’s need to die, they need to stop selling them by law at least new ones unless its special cases and go blu ray only.

Also, other regions HAVE gotten the first few seasons on blu ray, but not USA.

Because little girls don’t care about special features and 4k resolution. Or at least that’s why the big box retailers have no interest in buying MLP Blu-rays, which is why Shout! Factory isn’t making them.
