Ohhh, Larguirucho’s screams XD I tell you: they’re completely unavoidable. Check this cartoon with him: it predates Ico for more than 15 years.Here.
When I was younger, I thought he was a weasel
To me, it felt like he was meant to be a Roger Rabbit-type character, but unfortunately, he didn’t have a sane man like Eddie Valiant to bounce off of. And way too much of his dialogue consisted of obnoxious screaming like a Bedlam inmate.
Also, what was up with his design? Why does he have a rat’s face on a human body?
Larguirucho’s the director’s avatar, and whatever you like it or not, it’s almost impossible not to find him in any of García Ferré’s productions. In Argentina he’s somewhat of an icon, with his own bronze statue and such.
That said, the main reason why he’s annoying, as far as I know, is because his demenour is only completely understanable to Argentinians. AFAIK, again, he’s somewhat of a caricature of a Buenos Aires native, and the main display of the talents of his voice actor, ‘Pelusa’ Suero, a popular humorist who dubbed almost of García Ferré’s characters (to sum up, an Argentinean Mel Blanc).
Edited
On one hand, the main character was cute and likable, some of the music was nice, the animation, while cheap, still had mostly-appealing character designs, and I liked the themes of friendship and courage.
However, that Laguirucho guy was really annoying, the tone was all over the place (the film couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a deep emotional story, or a feature-length Looney Tunes cartoon), and I thought some scenes went on for too long (like the backstory of the selfish king).
I’m thinking that “abstractly pony related” could be a tag for this sort of thing.
I’m from Argentina and I never heard that :T
Might be because I’m too young.
Those who are familiar with the animated universe sorrounding Ico will understand
Some joke involving Lucario, Krystal, and Renamon. >:3
…Stop smiling, damn you! YOU’RE MORE REALISTIC!
RariJack conspiracy, yay! XD
I think you misunderstood my intentions, I’m actually just simply curious to know if it’s allowed or not, I’m not angry or I have something against Ico.
My question has kind of been answered, I guess? Strictly I suppose it shouldn’t be allowed, but it doesn’t seems to bother a lot of people, and it has some stylistic similarities with FiM, like how similar Ico is to Applejack and Preciosa to Rarity, for giving an example.
Edited
Well, technically speaking, the horse in the first image is applebucking and the content of second image has certain ties to the MLP community…
But yes, I definitely agree that those examples are really pushing the limits of Rule #3.
Edited
Ooh, also, Capper and Celaeno. XD
also there’s a lot of barely pony related stuff all over the site. like Zeb mentioned, this looks a bit similar to the show style. i’ve seen a few artists draw ponies that don’t even look like they’re related to the show. not necessarily a bad thing. just food for thought, y’know??
Edited because: fixed formatting
I’d imagine style is a defining factor. Poo Brain, for example, probably isn’t allowed. <3<
Like they don’t already do that~
=P
great, don’t complain when people start to post every freaking random horse they can find in other cartoons.
