Problem: When was that relative to this?
Stop it.
@Crowley
Cause no one ever got romantic before marriage right? Tying the knot to please society has existed for thousands of years; even if that wasn’t the case, it doesn’t mean the two didn’t decide to do their courtship as so.
Apple bloom was alive by this point. AJ wrote about her to Rara not long after they left camp.
This is a show where Applejacks’s parents weren’t mentioned even indirectly for five seasons, we had no idea there were three princesses until over 50 episodes had gone by, and that Fluttershy had a brother that at least half of the mane six knew about. Plus, given the connected topic of divorce, the weiters would have had an actual reason to avoid mentioning it. Also, babysitters exist in MLP (both the hired kind, and the family/family friend kind).
We don’t know how long MLP pregnancies last; they’re much more like humans in several other age related areas, after all (such as Sweetie Belle still being a young foal at five years old, where a real horse would have been fully grown by then).
Yeah, but surely that would have come up, either in DT’s backstory (when the CMC got their marks) or in the flashback… also, that brings up the “did they leave their baby unattended too!?” thing. But at least THEY can afford nannies, so there’s that.
Heck of a long shot if you ask me… foals take 11 months to be born, so the two instances would have to occur VERY close by for that to work.
That unrelated reason being makin’ Apple Bloom, amirite? …anybody?
Here’s three more ways:
3: DT is a child born to a previous marriage, and is only Spoiled’s daughter-in-law
4: Filthy and Spoiled got married and did the dirty very quickly after this, and Apple Bloom was born and her parents died/disappeared/whatever shortly before this flashback. This would put Apple Bloom just under a year older than DT, well within the “same age” description if spoken generally.
5: AJ’s parents aren’t gone yet in the flashback, merely offscreen, and they cannot run the farm for an unrelated reason. Thus, neither DT nor AB are born yet.
Edited
Okay, but here’s the real kicker then…
The flashback clearly shows Filthy Rich with his fiancee Spoiler Milk (aka Spoiled Rich). They clearly haven’t fully tied the knot yet, so we can all agree Diamond Tiara clearly doesn’t exist in that flashback.
…But Diamond Tiara is the same age as Apple Bloom.
There are only two ways this can exist, Angrybrony.
So, what’s it gonna be? Apple Bloom’s adopted or Diamond Tiara’s a bastard birth?
Edited
no.no. it really isn’t.
So they left a Baby Applebloom home alone? Nope, Applebloom was not yet born… Applebloom was delivered by Storks late. It’s the only explanation that works within the target audience.
she might have been put t bed early or something.
That’s what I thought at first, sure… but then wouldn’t she be at the table in the dinner scene? Even if she’s asleep during that, surely there’d be a high-chair in that room? :/
in a crib somewhere off screen cus she’s a baby still by then.
Waitaminute.
Their parents are strongly implied to be dead in this… Granny Smith “running the farm” and all that… but where was Apple Bloom in the flashback? :o
I kept it short by only listing the main problems in each category. I didn’t want to make a full analysis out of it.
no. it’d still be an absolutely shit twist.
