I did have fun with it too.
I modded the intake and exhaust for much greater airflow, rejetted the carbs, and added a Dyna3000 ignition. By the time I was done, I had boosted the power from 35hp to about 70hp.

Heh…Ere’in Malaysia price of the used Honda Shadow 600 can fetched more higher price than a used Virago 533 due to its reliability. And ironically Virago 535 is kinda standard bike for any driving school (For 250cc+ class license) because its cheaper price.
On reputation alone I think you got the better end of the deal. Can’t go wrong with a Shadow.
I almost bought an 800 Vulcan years ago, but when I finally had the funds, I called the place to have them get it ready, and they told me it had just been sold fifteen minutes prior to me calling. I ended up finding a sweet 98 Shadow 750 instead.
@Biker Dash
I got to try a Vulcan 900, but never the big 1700. Coming from the sportbike/touring world it really didn’t win me over, but I was impressed with the clutch action and how well it behaved in stop & go traffic.
A very manageable and comfortable beast, though.
I like the looks of the Vulcan 650. I think it seems an excellent replacement for the 500.
Actually, I wish Kawasaki would shoehorn that 650 into the 300 Ninja chassis. And keep the weight down below 400 lbs. Give it dual front disks, and a fully adjustable suspension, and you would have a beastly little track bike.
Man..Vulcan 1700. That’s a beast of chopper. Currently testing the Vulcan 650S.
No, it does not.
I can tell you EXACTLY what model bike it is, whereas that is MY bike, picture taken this morning by me.
It is a 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Nomad.
That is the same bike that I rode down to Bronycon on two months ago. (I just currently have the passenger backrest and travel trunk removed.)
Here is a picture of me on the bike.
