I’m just saying that people who ship characters could become to attached to some of them, and say that their headcanon is canon for no reason other than for comfort. I’ve seen a Flutters/Dash say that the ship is canon, but describes what a headcanon is when they say why they can’t point out why she can’t give examples of why.

I think people just want to ship them, and calls their headcanons as fact.

Best guess was a blog post on FIMFiction but there’s 189 of them and I don’t feel like combing through them at the moment.
