Wow. Anon is displayed in so many ways. Sometimes putting up a tough guy front, sometimes humorless and logical, sometimes even sweetly oblivious, but always in a way that puts him in contrast with the ponies around him. This is probably the first time I’ve seen him displayed as actually reaching out to the ponies as a friend.
 
And yeah, I’m overanalizing a joke, but still!
