Actually, fanart of “Apple Bloomers” existed before said prank, so it’s been around awhile. I think Atryl drew the first ones by request of somebody, but not sure.

I think it started with an April Fools commercial. And garnered attention with a 4koma comic by anibaruthecat (Very NSFW so I can’t link it but do search for “Fetish Escalation”). And I guess this cartoon might also be a thing.

Y’know, this is the first Apple Bloomers cosplay I’ve seen. I still don’t entirely understand what “Apple Bloomers” was, (some kinda series fans are making?) but I like it.
