As far as I know, there’s nothing out there for the specials yet.
It’s a little frustrating, actually.
Ah crap, just noticed the timestamps! I’m sorry, I thought these profiles were promotional imagery for the miniseries, not Legends.
She hates studying? I never noticed until now. Thanks. XD
Which is objectively bullshit.
Eh, I’d say she’s about halfway between Fluttershy and Moondancer.
@FanOfMostEverything
Rarity: “Before we fight evil, one of you has to go change!”
“She maintains the same personality traits of the Twilight we know from the MLP world”
“Her Skeleton is always on fire.”
“I like your analysis about Scilight,”
Thanks :)
“although it’s a little too headcanony”
Isn’t your ‘that’s not who Twilight is anymore’ a massive headcanon of yours? Her personality and motivations haven’t shown any noticeable change in the show, she’s just been put into a different role to make Celestia proud.
Also, what headcanon? Most of the stuff I mentioned about Sci Twi was established stuff from the movie, and elaborated stuff from the second version of Sci Twilight’s song, although admittedly not everyone has been exposed to the latter.
As for your example with Tirek, see below for Moondancer. Just because she’s a bit of tool doesn’t mean she’s heartless, Pony Twilight DOES have limits of things she couldn’t live with herself to not do even with her hyper-dependency. Very similar to the last seconds before Sombra was about to get the Crystal Heart.
The most worrysome thing about her character is how high those limits need to go before she disregards the wishes of authority figures. Its extremely high and not healthy for her OR her friends.
Choosing such an extreme example of a situation where she needs to choose independently hurts your argument, it doesn’t help it.
@thps48
Agreed, they aren’t exact opposites, they share a lot of similar base quirks, however seeing a Twilight Sparkle that was not defined by Princess Celestia and how she was raised made the difference surprisingly huge, even more then I expected going in.

“She fully understands her role and importance in the world and makes her own decisions”
Which we’ve seen no evidence towards. 99% of her actions are still driven by her need to live up to Celestia’s expectations. First as a student, now as a princess. Both roles given to her by Celestia. Completely objectively and non-insultingly, Pony Twilight is….a tool. An admittedly harsh but closer-to-truth-then-not descriptor for Twilight. Very much like Private Dick Simmons from Red vs Blue. In comparison, Hermione from Harry Potter is a more independent character by the end of book 1.
In Amending Fences she realized she didn’t know a thing about herself, her motivations beyond Celestia, and her moral reasons for doing things. The only reason she became introspective and completely exposed emotionally at the end of that episode, which she admitted was the toughest thing she’s ever done, is because she realized she was so indifferent towards others back then with Moondancer and screwed things up so badly with her… that her conscience couldn’t justify putting her actions under the umbrella of “I left for Celestia’s sake” and justify it.
Prior to that realization, she tried bargaining Moondancer’s forgiveness away.
“extremely risky ones at that, such as taking Starlight under her wings instead of punishing her”
“Everything major she did in the past two seasons was not influenced by Celestia in the slightest, and it shows that Twilight really doesn’t answer to her anymore at all”
Which she’s been treating her reform as a project instead of a personal relationship, leading up to trying to show her off to Celestia.
After given a castle and a lead-on question BY Celestia, her answer, being the princess of friendship, suddenly became Twilight’s new hyper dependent outlet. Her motivation for being a good princess is to make Celestia proud who made her a princess. No Second Prances confirmed how bad it still is for her. Why do you think Twilight yearned for a special princess role? Because Celestia put her on flag unfolding duty after making her a princess, making her feel that she wasn’t living up to Celestia’s ambition for her.
That’s not to say that Twilight isn’t subconsciously aware of it and is finally starting to hate it. In Castle Sweet Castle, the adjustments forced upon her life built up so much with the inclusion of the castle that she became withdrawn and became completely obsessed with distracting herself from reality for a week before they finally snapped her out of it at the pancakes scene.

They’re similar, but not opposites.
nope, human twilight is very different to pony twilight
Pretty nerd.
YAS, someone please make a template! <3
Of course, there was the time when Celestia and Luna decided to give her all their power as a last resort, but then Twilight gave it all away, without a second thought, for her friends. She didn’t ponder for even a second what Celestia would think.

Pony Twilight wants to please Celestia out of habit, like in No Second Prances, but it’s not really who she is anymore. She fully understands her role and importance in the world and makes her own decisions, extremely risky ones at that, such as taking Starlight under her wings instead of punishing her, without even consulting her former teacher. Everything major she did in the past two seasons was not influenced by Celestia in the slightest, and it shows that Twilight really doesn’t answer to her anymore at all. I like your analysis about Scilight, although it’s a little too headcanony
Sci Twilight.
Pony Twilight has an incredible lack of introspection for most main characters in main stream shows, and she is still as obsessed in pleasing Celestia then ever. Even with all the friendship lessons she can quote, she barely knows herself at all; her own hopes, dreams and wants.
Sci Twilight is a nervous but ambitiously curious scientist who is very interested in learning about mysteries and events she can’t understand. She has very natural and authentic lack of social skills rather then just natural shyness, which intersects somewhat but not exactly and which meshes well with her struggle with the pros and cons of her investigation into something as risky as magic.
And unlike Pony Twilight, Sci Twilight isn’t driven to succeed for the simple sake of pleasing someone, she wants to learn more about herself and wants to grow as a person. Her instincts and healthy self-interest told her that crystal prep was the wrong place for her, which led her to make her own path that eventually lead to Canterlot High. She’s also open minded and fairly relatable.

Pony Twilight. Scilight doesn’t have much development, and her personality is closer to Fluttershy than anyone else
Seems pretty clear that someone just got lazy. If she was just gonna wear Princess Twilight’s outfit, the hair would at least be different and she’d have glasses.
… Unless she’s going to wear the exact same outfit. Please tell me she’s not going to wear the exact same outfit.
