It’s like putting shirt on that’s too big, sure you’re wearing something and it’s serving it’s purpose, but wouldn’t you want one that’s better? More fitting?  
That’s not what I’m getting from this and such it’s not worth much.

I think this adds a lot of depth to her character. I mean, she is a monarch in the show but she’s done pretty much nothing.

Not content with just ruining the Dazzlings’ backstory and ruining dragons for everyone, IDW now sets out to ruin Princess Cadance as well. Good grief.

Is that so bad? Figureheading’s a good gig. All of the perks, none of the responsibility. And if you feel compelled to “make a difference,” you’re free to do it on your terms, without an angry mob breathing down your neck if you screw it up. It works for constitutional monarchs and First Ladies.

This. Luna acts like a emo drama queen, gets what she wants, and whines about not getting any attention.
 
Cadence has first world problems. And is really generic.

Ah… This is the picture I was looking for…
 
Luna: raises the moon, bringing the night, fights monsters, protects dreams, has a lot of cool stuff and cool pets and was born an alicorn. “MOON PRINCESS”
 
Twilight: has the friendship nuke, earned alicorn status, frequently saves Equestria, has a dragon assistant/little brother and an owl for pet. “FRIENDSHIP PRINCESS”.
 
Cadance: has shown to understand practical uses for magic, actually DOES protect the Crystal Empire, was instrumental in the defeat of Chrysalis and Sombra and also eaarned the alicorn status. “PRETTY PRINCESS”
 
Celestia: Raises the sun to begin the day, was born an alicorn and sits there looking pretty, eventually getting her ass handed to her by the season’s villain. “SUN PRINCESS”
 
I feel this sort of insecurity fits Celestia and her presentation in the entirety of the universe of MLP much more than Cadance.

I hate to pop a shiny bubble, but won’t having such an episode for Cadance now of all times be jarring?  
It makes sense for Twilight to have asked similar questions and others because she was just starting out when she started pondering these things. At this point Cadance has proven to have been able to take care of empire on multiple occasions and on different levels be it literal protection or political/social duties like snatching up the games for the crystal ponies. Couple that with her scenes in things like Three’s a crowd, Games Ponies, Equestria Games, etc and her part in the “Play your part” song we’ve known for quite a while that when it comes to her princesshood she’s neither as conservative and regal as Luna and Celestia view their own princesshood, but also isn’t as green about it as Twilight; she’s the down to earth Middle. So having her ponder her own existence now of all times and in such fashion seems out of place for her; See what I’m trying to say?  
All this can be illustrated with just this scene / Twilight walks into the arena unsure, seeing her friends having fun being in the normal seats; Celestia and Luna are being their regal selves; and out of the three only Cadance is the one to break the decorum  

 
Also this kinda goes into what I’ve grown to consider two personal writing sins with me; A: giving a character something that doesn’t fits just for that sake of it and B: giving a characters something without much consideration of the how. It’s the “give Spike wings” problem as it is suggested most often in the fandom; so focused on the end goal of Spike just having wings that the morals, the scenario, how it relates to Spike in that episode and as a whole, and other such essentials become an after thought instead of the main point. Lost Mark wasn’t just that the CMC got there marks, Pinkie Pride wasn’t just MLP got a celebrity guest, etc etc so if they did make an episode expanding on Cadance or adding something new I don’t want it to just be Cadance gets fleshed out more and the thing added/expanded doesn’t really fit.

God damn it, we needed a Cadance episode to expand on her character. Comics, once again, got there first.

Yeah the writers kinda dropped the ball with the 3rd season opener as well as the rest of the season.

She held a barrier against Sombra for who knows how long, she grabbed Spike and Crystal Heart and used it to defeat Sombra despite being exausted.
 
I don’t get it why Spike who did just one job gets all the fame, Celestia and Luna who for 6 seasons do nearly nothing are more popular, but Cadence is being threated like a joke?

Ah you’re just off your meds again, here take some Zoloft.

God damn it. Why couldn’t this comic have been an actual episode? This is exactly the sort of thing we needed her to go through.

Pretty deep thoughts from Cadence.

Wow, Princess Cadance really hit the nail on the head there, right? I’d swear that IDW actually paid attention to some fan ideas for once.
 
I’ll bet Twilight felt the exact same way at times.
