She wasn’t and isn’t.
She will probably cameo ever now and then like discord but mostly she will be finishing her education via writing letters to twilight just like twilight did with celestia. After all, it seems there has been a time skip to give the baby time to come to term so most of her education with twilight in person was completed off screen.
Anyway thats what I think will happen, but we’ll find out for sure tommorrow.
The part about Starlight being Twilight’s pupil suggests she will appear regularly but any means to write her out are fine with me.
Ah well, every show has their shit moments and I seriously doubt starlight will be sticking around after the premier. Not when their’s a hunk like sunburst in the crystal empire for her to chill with and conveniantly give the staff a believeable reason to write such a basebreaking character out of the show.
Starlight has the worst motivation for villainy of any character I have ever seen in fiction. I could almost consider it comical if the show did not play it completely seriously. So yeah, Trixie is completely right in this picture. Starlight is not just a terrible friend. She is a terrible person and the prospect of her becoming a regular character is like looking down the barrel of a gun.
I’m sure trixie would have had the decency to celebrate a friends acomplishment and not fall into decades of self pity because she wasn’t the centre of his world for about 10 seconds.
Seriously, sunburst probably thought starlight was right behind him and celebrating his special moment with the rest of the crowd and was probably crushed when he relised she wasn’t there and wasn’t even going to see him off.
