That doesn’t really address the basic fact that she designed the Magic Capture Device so idiotically (Seriously, automatic magic drain and no off switch? What the hell was she thinking?). That, and she didn’t think to take the device off and store it somewhere safe when it started doing things that she obviously did not intend.
