I can’t believe one of my first comments was a little fanfic. Oof.

In a desperate attempt to stop the monsters and villains running rampant across her kingdom, celestia turned to darker magicks and transformed herself into nightmare star and in a single furious attack scoured her land of evil. But when the dust cleared she relised she had gone to far and reduced her land and people to dust.
 
Wandering the wasteland and consumed with guilt and grief, nightmare star spotted from a distance a unicorn and an alicorn she had never met before. She heard talk of time travel and vengeance gone awry and in that moment nightmare star knew who was responsible for her suffering. As the two disappeared through the time portal nightmare star followed unnoticed and though she did not know if she would arrive at the exact same point in time as the Meddler, she knew that when she did she would have her vengeance. Then she would depose her weaker former self and ensure equestria would never suffer from evil again, no matter the cost.

At least for being an eternal flame thrower, it’s all about spray and pray while aiming would require some sort of effort.
