Confirmed: the finale is going to be a beautiful disaster. For and idea this complex, you need at least a 3-parter. Maybe even a season. No way they can pull this off in a 2-parter.
Yet it will still be hella fun to watch because the idea is so fascinating!
So ist gonna be like Crisis in infinite equestrias.
Or like that episode of futurama and the AU Boxes.
Second one: Starlight realizes this is a terrible world tries to undo it by going back even further to stop Nightmare Moon in the first place, this causes Celestia to go crazy/get possessed instead which gets us Nightmare Celestia. This could also be where Facepainted Pinkie and Fluttershy come from.
Third: Starlight goes back in time for a third time to fix the second time line and actually is successful leading to the final confrontation between her and Twilight and Spike and maybe the rest of the mane 6. How this happens I have no speculation for right now.
