Not really. Twilight from the show still had her magic, others’ friendship gave her power boost.
It’s more of a team effort then just suddenly giving Twilight the power to do everything on her own.

i believe it fallows the rules of anime. particle digimon,pokemon,sailor moon, etc.. video games do the same thing. undertale, KH, sonic, etc.. it’s not that it’s a bad lesson. it’s just over used or misinterpreted. that’s why some people don’t like the whole “i believe” thing. it’s everywhere!
Yeah, I pointed out the comparison to show precedent for this working. It’s because it made sense then that this isn’t totally out of left field.

That’s your theory? It happened in a dream? Then I guess Derpy can change size on demand Spike can turn into a knight and Scootaloo can grow giant wings at will, it was a dream it wasn’t real that’s not how dreams work not even if Luna was in your dream.

If anyone’s dreams can be treated as realistic, it would be Luna’s, especially the ones she created specifically to torture herself.
This issue has some strong points, but this was definitely one of the weakest. You could already argue about the deus ex machina nature of the elements in the show, but this takes it to a whole new level. The power of believing…seriously idw? Believe could give you a confidence boost and help you get in action, but it’s not a miracle life hack tool. It almost makes me want to post Shia’s motivational speech, because that one makes more sense than this. What a “fantastic” lesson to teach to children…

I know right? The show at least is very much aware of the cheesy/cliché/deus-ex-machina moments they have sometimes and tackle the issue or make fun of it with meta humor.
