They started getting their shit together around Season 3, but the voices still all sound alike to me (Except for Applejack, but that’s an entire different problem), and they could put some more emotion behind it, but like you said, it’s good enough.
I guess I expected something like the Latin American Digimon dub, but that’s probably never gonna happen ever again.
And yeah, Applejack sounds ridiculous, a Southern accent simply doesn’t work in Spanish.
@Background Pony #6BEF
Bell Satellite has the channel. and treehouse also has mlp. but also its a couple eps behind. but like others pointed out, international succeses are separate.
But there’s no Discovery Family here in Indonesia!
@Background Pony #E26E
There’s no Discovery Family here in Canada.
@lunafan22
in mexico neither
@Roy-of-Asturia
No DisFC in the Philippines
I hate to be all American about it– (i clearly do not hate to be all american about it)– but international ratings don’t really count, even in countries where Discovery Communications has an actual presence; the international market is ancillary to the domestic market for Hasbro, and has its own separate metrics for success/failure that don’t have much of a connection to the domestic metrics.
THAT’S WHY WE DIDN’T GET A GODDAMN WAVE 2 BLIND BAG SERIES WITH A GODDAMN CHEERILEE FIGURE GODDAMIT
@Deserter
Get a decent latin Spanish dub
I thought MLP Latinamerica was good, though? All of the songs on my Los Ponis del Todo Mundo collection are pretty great, and while I’m not too fond of Motta’s Applejack, Melissa Gedeon certainly kicks popo as Pinkamena
DianeLatina Pie. The Latinamerica dubs are definitely better than the Castellano dubs, at least.@Background Pony #8CAD
What matters is how many people with Nielsen boxes watch
AC Nielsen tracks other relevant things besides just TV ratings… I’M JUST SAYIN’.
@Marusame
the demographic of MLP
Children, dude. The demographic is children aged 4-8, specifically girls. All of us here are just useful hangers-on.
@Vree
One of us has to make a stand on this
THAT’S THE SPIRIT ( ಠ__ಠ)—b
@Brownee
the Australian governments new plan for Piracy
man i hope that’s better than the old abbot plan for piracy which was “kill any brown people you encounter on the high seas”
But in this particular case, MLP doesn’t air on Australian TV, or at least not at the same time as the USA. For starters, we need Foxtel, which is paid TV full of stuff that is really questionable in being worth getting from the start. Then the kids channel that has it is one you wouldn’t immediately figure since it shows older cartoons, but whatever. Then you see that the newest episode they have is from last season… which sucks.
I can do my part and buy the DVD’s as they come out, but otherwise, I want to see this shit when it’s new and being talked about, so obviously I’m gonna stream it… at the risk of the Australian governments new plan for Piracy where I could be fined a couple hundred dollars if Hasbro or whatever found out and feel like taking action.
So what you really want to do is tie up Nielsen families and make them watch it with you, while you stand there naked, showing off your whole-back tattoo of “The Great Purple and Green Dragon and the Pony Princess Flanked with the Sun.” Do you see?
One of us has to make a stand on this.
Most people around my age is also the demographic of MLP (im 28 but demographic is 21) either never had cable in their house or dropped it. Cable Nevers and Cable Cutters. And in another 10 years all TV will be on the internet, cable tv either has to evolve or it will die.
(please remove the ridiculous amount of commercials, though)I would buy it in a heartbeat.
You’re just salty over the fact that Jim only cares about making good things.
Yeah.
Why would I go out onto the porch or up into the living room where I’d have to kick someone else off from watching their shit, when I can just watch it on my computer with the added bonus of not ever having to go through the whole “Yes I’m watching ponies” conversation.
If money is exchanged, you can bet the profits from digital sales show up on some Hasbro accountant’s balance sheet somewhere along the line. They would be crazy not to factor it into their calculations in this day and age.
You don’t have to address the elephant in the room. That depresses a great deal of us.
THIS. Finally someone who knows how it works. Shame both sides don’t on here or on EQD :/
Funny, considering the show is produced IN Canada, last time I checked.
However, I understand. That is at least something, considering you’re using a viable format to watch it that they CAN grab ratings from. The real question is, are they? Do they only grab ratings from starter airings on TV?
You shouldn’t kiss the ass of somebody, who thinks that people who don’t share his views are wrong by default.
