Do you think we could get a description for “meganekko” as some people (such as myself) won’t know what it is unless they have to look it up? According to TV Tropes, it’s something about cute and smart girls who wear glasses.

Short Description: A meme face, looking directly at the screen with lidded eyes and a smile.

Long Description: A specific expression where the character is looking directly out of the screen with a smile and lidded eyes.

Tag name: Scootie Belle
Short Description: Sweetie Belle or another pony scooting.
Long Description: Sweetie Belle scooting along the floor using only her back legs like she did in Sisterhooves Social or another character scooting in the same manner.

I’m not sure if animated images are common for descriptions so I went ahead and included two, one animated and one not.

The Mighty Helm tag has its description talking about how it’s Rockhoof’s village defense force.

Can we get a similar description for Flash Magnus’s Royal Legion?

From the handful of images I looked at under that tag, it looks really overused. Tags like that should only be used for images where the action is bordering on obsession. Not just “pony + object in same frame”. Shouldn’t need a definition since it’s pretty self-explanatory. _{Though given the huge over-tagging of it, maybe it does need a proper one.}

Short Description: Ponies playing with/interacting with party balloons, whether generally or suggestively.

Long Description: Ponies bouncing on balloons, blowing up balloons, sitting on balloons, squeezing and hugging balloons, and even riding on balloons (like riding a horse). Applies to both general love of party balloons, as well as those with a balloon fetish. The term “looner” (someone with said balloon fetish) can also apply here.

I don’t know if I want to set that tag in stone yet, it’s been used for everything from:

AFAIK Sparky doesn’t even have a tag with the Mane 5, and he was there before Misty. I think we should at least wait until TYT season 2 to see Comet’s place in the story. There’s no rush, jumping the gun on implications is what led to this.

Mane seven (g5) needs to be described as mane six (g5) + Sparky and Misty.

Long Description: An image that shows the accurate and canon style. In some cases, the only way to distinguish it from official art may be the subject matter of the artwork. Alternatively, this can describe art where characters are depicted in a way that is heavily based on the official style and proportions of the original character designs, or where the character’s face alone is more or less on model, while the rest of their body is altered.

Notes: Some of the information are taken from an E621 wiki page because I am too lazy to finish a long description. E621 wiki pages help me make long descriptions whenever I am too lazy.

It makes no sense to see an artist’s name in the description and then tag something else instead of the name.

It could, but it risks multiple tags for the same artist. For more known artists they will get merged eventually, but for ones with like 14 images, there’s a good chance no one will recognize the style or randomly decide to investigate the tags. Hence it’s good to keep the tag to serve as a TODO note that this image’s tags need attention. artist needed can also be used for this purpose, but it’s less informative/expressive. artist in description marks the low hanging fruit: there’s some data available to kickstart the investigation. People might be more willing to work on these rather than on a random “artist needed, BP upload, no signature, no source” image.

Yes, it should definitely be removed after the problem is fixed.

Overall it won’t be the end of the world if we alias it to artist needed, but I think that would turn some signal into noise and I don’t like that.

I’m trying to think of what useful information is gained by having tagged that the uploader mentioned the artist in the description, but I really don’t see it.

It’s like an unnecessary extra step instead of just tagging the artist or artist needed.

In the lack of of any other identifying factor, why couldn’t the tag just be their name? If it’s not a breech of privacy enough to add in the description, it’s not a breech of privacy enough to tag it.
And even in that niche use, it - just like artist needed - should be removed from the image once a name is tagged, meaning it shouldn’t be on any of the images it’s on anyway.

True, but sometimes you don’t know what tag to add. For example when you know the first and last name of the artist, but you don’t know their pseudonym. I think it’s OK to keep this tag if it means “artist needed, but there is a hint in the description”. (Then it should imply “artist needed”.)

I really don’t think that needs to be a tag, at all. Just add the artist’s tag.

I have two tag description suggestions:

Tag name: Artist in Description Link

Long Description: For whatever reason, the uploader stated the artist in the description instead of, or in addition to, applying an artist tag.

Tag name: Comment in Description Link

Long Description: Uploaded by a third-party, with a description that reads more like a comment from the uploader than an actual description.

The description for egg has a broken link to egg (food) due to typos.

That’s why it’s a non standard reading.

Yeah it could be read as henjin. Though hennin is another reading for it too equally as valid since the kanji for person has two On’yomi readings. Weird Person is like the literal meaning, so weirdo either way. XD
