Hasbro is very controlling of Trixie.
 
Originally Faust wanted the character male but then Hasbor intervened and said it has to be female.
 
The following is a quote from the wiki “According to Lauren Faust on Twitter, Trixie also attended Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns for Friendship is Magic Issue 40, Ted Anderson “had a line in an earlier version of the script in which Celestia greeted Trixie by name (”Welcome, Miss Lulamoon!”), but that was rejected by Hasbro, on the grounds that Trixie never went to the School for Gifted Unicorns”, and Brenda Hickey—remembering Faust’s statement and unaware of the rejection at the time—put Trixie in without being given any notes from Hasbro.”
 
I’m convinced this character is very special but I don’t really know why.

Why are their eyes dead in the photographs? Even the Wonderbolts that showed RD their pictures had dead eyes.

That’s the episode borderline a metaphor for divorce, right? Or at least how a kid handles being caught between a divorce.

I remember when the leak was posted on youtube. Comments were saying “are Starlight and Sunburst brother and sister.” And then it gets creepier when you think their respective parents resemble each other.
 
It does flesh out the back story. Not completely but good enough. Flunking school, running away from home. Turning evil, etc.

I’m waiting for people’s reactions to the Starburst episode. Its going to break/make a lot of head canons.

Were any of the granny ponies established as having poor health? Sure they could probably over do it but it didn’t seem like there were any issues about letting them have fun. I don’t remember AJ explaining anything to RD about it. It seemed like it was all built on assumption.
 
I was waiting for Mr. Magoo moments but one granny pony flirting with the bell hop was the best. The part with the coin. No words. Best visual gag. You can only do that with earth ponies because they don’t have hands.

That’s an animation error. There was an alicorn guard once. I guess by default the flash assets have have horns and wings and then just gets removed when its used.

Was there a reason why AJ made RD be cautious when “taking care” of the granny ponies? Its like she was trolling RD. It felt like Admiral Holdo not explaining things to Poe causing a mutiny.
 
Best part was the bell hop not wanting to bite the coin. That’s like Animaniacs level of humor right there.

Trixie’s father was in this episode. They even have the smoke bomb thing in common. But one questions. Was AJ trolling RD? Why was she so cautious about the senior ponies? Its not like one of them had a heart condition or anything. But if one of them had a heart condition that roller coaster ride would’ve turned out badly.

How many times has Fluttershy’s skill in sewing been used in the series? I can only remember once and its the same episode it was mentioned in. Kudos for Andrea Libman for remembering that considering MLP is not the only show she does VA work on. She must have a lot of dedication to her job because at that level, you’re treating the fictional character like they’re alive or real.

Yeah. They played it twice in the Hearts and Hooves Day episode. The leaked episode didn’t have proper SFX or BGM so I assume its just a place holder for those scenes.

BGM? Here’s the real question. Is one of the episodes really going to play “Take My Breath Away” or was that just BGM place holder?

I just saw the animatic. This could be good. Anyone who’s taken cared of an old person will be able to relate. They have “special needs.” I don’t think the episode will go that far but if one of those senior ponies have dementia or one of them keeps saying “I forgot my medication and I need to take it by this time or I’ll die,” it would be funny.

Every fandom does this. They judge a show way outside of normal parameters out of its perspective. You should never forget what the show is trying to do and who it was meant for.
 
The show is meant for young children and its goal is to entertain them (and sell toys.) The plot does not need to be complicated. Neither do the characters. Still at the very least it respects that children aren’t stupid and the cast isn’t screaming all the time or saying random things. They just need to make you laugh. If they don’t make you laugh then maybe you’ve outgrown it.
 
The show has definitely changed its tone. 8 years is a long time. Almost a third of a generation. The show will adapt to trends focusing on its target audience. Its why old people yell at young people because their music is too loud.

Just rewatched Fluttershy’s episode for the 2nd time. Its funnier when you start seeing the really mean undertones that they used for humor. Little kids won’t even see it. I think this is the meanest episode in the entire series.
 
That first customer that Rarity stares down, the one that blew up in Fluttershy’s face, that was intense. I can totally relate. You have to act like you like that person so you have to lie through your teeth to get through the interaction. Look at how Rarity laughs with her. That’s me right there every single time dealing with a customer.
 
That part where millennial Fluttershy doesn’t want to help a customer while she’s behind the counter is also me… 5 minutes before my shift ends. And Rarity calls Saddle Row residents as “horrible ponies.” I love that part.
 
I like this episode. I can relate to it. The humor in it is surprisingly mean spirited in nature for a little kids show with cute characters. That kind of humor will go over most kids heads because they’ve never held down a terrible toxic job that deals with all sorts of horrible people before. In fact, the humor in it was borderline satire… Like an old newspaper comic strip.
 
If anything this episode had no lesson. Its just ponies do cute stuff. We need more pointless episodes like these instead of trying to shoehorn some kind of lesson in the end just for the sake of it.

I liked the episode because they managed to do more cute things with Fluttershy. That was the point of the episode. Fluttershy doing cute things. Can we just get rid of the old Fluttershy and keep the millennial one?
 
Anyway, joking aside, I think a new writer wrote this. I understand why. If you’re not familiar with the character you’re going to write, then portray them in your own way. In this case, three different ways.

I work in customer service. And when I mean customer service, I mean I answer the phone if your internet or cable isn’t working or if you have a complaint because your bill is too high.

Well that hit a little too close to home. Anyone who works in dealing with customers day in day out can relate to this. I kept getting reminded that 25% of the time, some ass hole comes in and complains about the dumbest things like why the company logo is red and not blue and then asks to talk to your manager about it. I’m like, I have no time for this.
 
Manehattenites are pricks. I guess not all ponies are into all that friendship thing. A lot of them are apparently like regular humans when in a city setting. You can’t help but have all that negative vibe rub on you and you carry it with you to how you deal with your next customer.
 
And Twilight said the word “everyone.”

The impression that I got is its an exploration of shy people. People are shy around other people. Shyness prevents them form doing things. If they’re all alone, there’s no reason for them to be shy. So they do stuff like sing in the bathroom or whatever. In some instances, being alone is like interacting with someone that does not know you. Especially if that someone is never gonna see you again. You can drop your mask and do anything you want but that person wouldn’t know any better because they have no basis to judge you on. At least that’s what I got when Fluttershy was holding her composure. Let’s see what it is when it airs.

Okay, I’m hyped. I’m starting to get the gimmick of the episode. Fluttershy can let herself go because she can take on any persona that she wants in front of ponies that DO NOT know her. Its like a clean slate every time. Interesting.

I know but not exactly my point. They had no speaking roles. Removing that scene doesn’t change the story. You could replace it with a jar of mayo on a white screen and everything stays the same.

Any headcanons why pony technology looks so human? They have door knobs, feather quills and even eating utensils but the creatures that use them mainly don’t have fingers or hands. Even with unicorns with telekinesis, their tools would be fashioned much differently. Horn writing for example. What’s it called for earth ponies? Mouth writing? Did humans used to be on Equestria? What if S9 introduces those 3 dumb kids in G1 that were friends with the ponies?

Not saying anything nor claiming what the intentions are. Just saying that Maud and Briar appearing in “the background” of the H&H day episode is also inconsequential to the story of that episode. Big Mac, Spike and Discord will have their adventure as normal regardless if they appeared in the background or not.

I have a theory about that but I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed too much f a META speculation.
 
The scene where Maud introduced Briar had her emphasize that she has a boyfriend. They kept going back and forth; boyfriend, a what?, boyfriend, a what? There’s a lot of effort and time allotted for just that scene on an episode that most likely had edited stuff out because they’re trying to fit something within 22 minutes. But if you look at the entire story as a whole, Mudbriar’s status as Maud’s bf is completely inconsequential to the narrative. Its almost as important as saying he’s left handed. Why? Because Maud could’ve introduced him as a “new friend” and the story would have ran the same way.
 
Now why would they do something like this, you ask? Well, here goes…
 

 
All the best moments in the episode were between Pinkie and Briar. We hardly saw any interaction between Maud and Briar because Maud was hardly in the episode herself. What do you think the fans perception would be if Mudbriar wasn’t “taken?” I know some people will connect the dots.
