Previously you may have seen a couple of us (mostly the developers plus some staff that don’t listen to rules) have a secondary piece of flair, in blue, attached to our name. We’ve decided to open this functionality up to everyone so that you can now all yaypost on your profile. Staff secondary roles (that is, the original intention for the blue flair) have been shifted to yellow and have been reduced to Site Developer/System Administrator.
On the “about me” section of your profile, you’ll see a new box labelled “personal title”. Write whatever you like, up to 24 characters (including emojis for those of you who wish to watch the world burn). Standard rules apply to the flair just as they apply to posts and comments.
Impersonation of staff roles or otherwise wording your title to appear as a staff member (even “as a joke”) will be met with The Smiling Pony affecting your ability to access the site. Trying to break outside of the bounds of what is considered decent usage will be met with me affecting your ability to access the site. Which is more worrying depends on the beholder.
Ensuring that credit is given where due, shoutout to Joey who drove the implementation of this.
Edit: This feature was a mistake and I regret rolling it out.
Edit: 7:11 PM <The Smiling Pony> Freedom has too high a price
