A traveler. Leg can also mean "a section or stage of a journey or process." He slows down in the afternoon to do some sightseeing.
 
Alternatively, Twilight Sparkle. She started out as a fairly-normal unicorn, became a human when she went through the mirror to the Equestria Girls world, and as an alicorn favors flight and magic (two wings and a horn) in situations where other ponies would more likely turn to their hooves.

  2. It depends on what context the Sphinx is referring to, and who she’s asking. Were the Sphinx to ask Jane or Joe Public, the answer would be “Humankind” or something along that line of thinking.Were she to ask a comedian, they might say, “My table - it had four legs when I bought it at 7:00 AM from IKEA, but two of them broke at 1:00 PM. I tried to find replacement legs at 5:00 PM, but I could only find one, so now I have a three-legged table.”
     
    However, were the Sphinx to ask a quantum physicist, the answer she’d get is, “An atom. It starts out with the four fundamental forces - gravity, electromagnetism, the strong nuclear force, and the weak nuclear force. Then you have the two standard types of quarks, the up quark and the down quark. Those join together in units of three to make the proton, the neutron, and the electron. All those bits make up an atom aaaaaand you’re walking away,” to which the Sphinx would reply, “I asked a riddle of you and you made my head hurt. Now I need some bucking aspirin.”
