No need to be condescending. I’m certain I heard it somewhere, as I remember it coming from an interview.  
I know your icon and badges imply as much, but you don’t have to live up to the whole “X is a duck” thing all the time.

I believe it was during an interview, which was meant to explain why Luna’s royal guards had bat wings. I can’t seem to find the original, but it’s been in my head for so long, and I lack the imagination to come up with that myself.

Last I heard they actually planned on doing more, but Flash was giving issues and time constraints.
It really ends up being kind of an unfair comparison. I mean the show artists have to create the area within a schedule and leave time for animation and deal with a long outdated program that starts coming apart at the seems when they get that many individual characters involved, while those others are probably hours of work invested in creating a single still image.
