Shame Nintendo turned ‘em down. A new “Nintendo Comics System” line would kick ass.
A Captain N comic by Archie would be awesome especially, and offer opportunities to explore many Nintendoverses.
Helps writer of Sonic, and Megaman, Ian Flynn is a Nintendo fan too. He even said he’d love to do a StarFox comic.
(DO A BARREL ROLL!)
archie ‘captain n’ could’ve been introduced in another megaman-sonic crossover.
it might also make way for a proper nintendoverse comic line.
Wish they reprinted those. Oddly, they did a reprint of the Nintendo Power “Link to the Past” comic recently.
Y’know, it’d be cool if the rebooted “Captain N,” (as a comic or cartoon) and had more accurate depictions of the games, featured the modern Pit (Kid Icarus) and such. Nowadays would be a better time, seeing how gamers work in the comic, and cartoon industry now.
i remember the valiant comic’s adaptation of captain n and mario.
i didn’t knew samus was a girl X_X (metroid wasn’t available over here at the time)
I hear it’s only on hiatus, so it may continue. They’re also still selling the reprint collection books of it, and the crossovers.
I hear years back, Nintendo turned down Archie’s offer to do a miniseries based off their games. (The art from the pitch featuring Super Mario, Kirby, and Metroid by Tracey Yardley can be found online) So just think… We could’ve had a Sonic, Megaman, AND Mario crossover possibly!
actually, i have no idea how much #0 costs.
still sad that the megaman comic didn’t last that long. would’ve wanted to see more sonic-megaman crossovers
Really? Surprising considering it’s been reprinted in the Sonic Archive, and Sonic Legacy collection books. Though, I guess they aren’t the exact same thing as the original comic.
Wonder how much the very very first issue #0 of the first 4-part miniseries is worth. (Which is like the comic’s “pilot” which came before the main comic did.) Technically, that’s the first issue.
I remember an article in wizard magazine how much a mint condition sonic #1 costs at the time.
it was a combination of rarity (most who bought it are kids who don’t know the term ‘mylar snug’) and the comic being a success (at that point which was considered an anomaly) so demand is pretty high.
Perhaps. Though, oddly Antoine lost his jacket and looks more naked now. So he got the opposite of Sally.
My local Walmart actually carries the “Sonic Super Digest” books, but I usually see Sonic comics at bookstores. I hear they’re still one of Archie’s most best selling comics after all these years.
I’m not an avid follower of the comics (comic stores don’t really carry those type of comics over here because they rarely sell) so i can only buy back issues from a bargain books chain.
but from what i can piece together, the more characters they added, the weirder it was for some to be still ‘naked’ when others are wearing clothes.
I guess it’s easier to clothe the ‘naked’ characters rather than make the majority naked.
(Sorry for the late resonse.) You mean the “blue arm drama?” Hard to say really, though the Sally drama seemed a bit bigger.
Sonic fans seem to hate any change to the series, no matter how subtle. Same with some bronies.
so in comparison to sonic now having fur on his arms, which is the worse crybaby event?
Y’know, ironically, back during the “Twilicorn” drama, there was a similar drama in the Sonic fandom over Princess Sally getting a new look in the Sonic comic.
Let’s just say alot of fans were not happy she wears clothes now…
In fact, one fangirl I saw on DA claims it’s “sexist,” because male animal Sonic characters don’t have to wear clothes, but now all the females do. (I don’t know what to say about that.)
>Sally Alicorn
