Yes, OCs aren’t popular, but I’ve seen plenty of people get fanbases using their OCs primarily in their art.
You just need to fix your comic style, and try to think up something original.
“Building a wacky invention and it blowing up Daffy Duck style in their face” isn’t a new concept.

In general, you need to learn about comic making and check your writing.
The script was too wordy for a comic, and the set up is just so cliche that it wasn’t funny. Those were the problems.
Stay in school, English class is very important.
Perhaps comedy is not your forte, OP?
And using black text without a textbox? For shame.
Comics are meant to have short, punchy lines of dialogue.
